Carol Hartley

Carol has come to painting through her love of gardening and flowers.
A thematic stamp collection based on flowers and plants inspired her to improve her drawing skill and, when her family grew up and became more independent, she took a course at Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester. There she improved her drawing skills and changed medium from coloured pencil to watercolour.
In 2005 she was accepted as a full member of the Society of Floral Painters and has exhibited with them at Mottisfont Abbey, Hillers and Compton Acres.
Her work has also been exhibited with the Dorset Arts and Craft Association, the Priory in Christchurch and more recently at the Society of Botanical Artists, at Westminster Halls, in London.
In 2010 she attended a course at The English Garden School in Chelsea and gained her Diploma in 2012.
Since then she has been working towards exhibiting at Chelsea and in 2014 was invited to join the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society.
