Judith has had an interest in natural history and wild flowers since she was a child. Botany was one of her A level subjects. She studied medicine at London University and practised as a local GP while her family was growing up. During this time she trained to be a psychotherapist and eventually left the NHS to work as a therapist at home.
She has always been keen on gardening and wanted to learn to draw and paint plants. Nearing retirement and at that time knowing little about botanical painting she chose the course based at the beautiful and interesting Chelsea Physic Garden. She much appreciated and enjoyed the teaching and was awarded the diploma in 2006. She became a member of the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society the following year and has several paintings in the archive collection.
