Linda Pitkin

Linda’s lifelong passion for nature has been explored through both art and science. Taking up botanical illustration, as a recent development (since 2007), brings these threads together, and draws on her experience in biology and photography.  She works in watercolour, graphite pencil, pen-and-ink, coloured ink as well as photography.

Linda is a freelance underwater photographer and worked previously in entomological research at the Natural History Museum.

Linda studied botanical painting with Leigh-Ann Gale and has been a member of

HCPFS since 2011. She is also a member of Surrey Botanical Society, Royal Society of Biology, British Society of Underwater Photographers and Women Divers Hall of Fame.  Linda has exhibited her photographs and botanical watercolours in London and Surrey and had a number of books, articles and research papers published.
