Shirley Slocock

Shirley is a director of Knap Hill Nursery, a family business since 1795, with a worldwide reputation for the production of award winning azaleas and rhododendrons.  It was both her love of watercolour painting and plants which attracted her to the English Gardening School’s Botanical Painting Course in 2004. Shirley is a graduate of the English Gardening School.  Exhibitions: Society of Botanical Artists, London 2007 (Certificate of Botanical Merit), 2008 (Daler Rowney Award) and 2009; Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh 2007; Amicus Botanicus, London 2008 and 2010; Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society’s RHS group Silver medal exhibit 2009. Work held in HCP archive, Hunt Institute and private collections.  Memberships: ASBA, SBA, Amicus Botanicus, HCPFS. Shirley has reviewed botanical painting books for the RHS. She works in watercolour on paper and vellum, and graphite on paper.
